CHILDREN 404 - Eye on World Issues

PANEL DISCUSSION FOLLOWING THE SCREENING

An essential and heartbreaking documentary which premiered at the prestigious Hot Docs film festival, CHILDREN 404 is an intimate look at the LGBTQ youth struggling against Russian leader Vladmir Putin’s anti-gay propaganda laws. In response to laws that forbid “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations to minors,” activist Elena Klimova created Children 404, an online forum for Russian teens who have been harassed and alienated by a community obliged to tell them they are sick, sinful, and abnormal. Despite risks to their own safety in this dangerous climate, two Russian documentarians collect their anonymous stories of humiliation, discrimination, and courage.    more
