Woody Allen plays a bookseller–turned–pimp in John Turturro’s bold new comedy, FADING GIGOLO. With his small bookshop is facing closure, Murray decides to try the world’s oldest profession and enlists the help of his friend Fioravante, a middle–aged florist perfect for the wealthy older women of New York City. Murray’s plan seems foolproof until he introduces a sheltered and lonely orthodox Jewish widow to his mix of clientele. Working from his own screenplay and starring alongside Allen, Turturro crafts a funny, tender, and wryly observant New York story about loneliness and the need for human connection.
