This family friendly 3D follow up to JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH combines several classic Jules Verne tales. A restless teen (Josh Hutcherson, soon to be seen in THE HUNGER GAMES) and his new stepdad (Dwayne Johnson) trek to a strange island in search of a distress signal from its lone inhabitant. Along with their helicopter pilot and his daughter (Luis Guzman and Vanessa Hudgens), they encounter giant lizards, tiny elephants, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret that threaten to force the island underwater and bury its treasures forever.
