THE IMPOSTER
109 min | R
A gripping thriller straight out of real life, THE IMPOSTER walks the edge between true crime documentary and stylish noir mystery. The tale begins with the disappearance of a 13 year old Texas boy who was then found three and a half years later in Spain, saying he survived a mind boggling ordeal of kidnap and torture. Despite the strange and suspicious circumstances, his family is ecstatic to have him back. Director Bart Layton fuses confessional interviews, striking re-enactments, and suspenseful storytelling into a film that draws the audience into THE IMPOSTER’s lacerating questions about truth and perception.
